Welcome to Shawano! We're happy to be your new utility provider. Please submit the form below to establish service at your new residence. We do require at least a one to two business days' advance notice.
Requests submitted after 10:00 a.m. Fridays will be processed the next business day and scheduled for the following second business day.
Your driver license or photo ID will be used to verify your identity. If you cannot provide this information, you must stop in our office to show proof of identity.
If you prefer, you can download the application and may drop off the completed application at our office located at 122 N Sawyer Street.
Tenants please take note: Each time SMU notifies a tenant that charges for service are past due for more than one billing cycle, SMU may serve a copy of the notice of the past due charges on the owner/landlord. If the tenant vacates the rental unit, the responsible parties and owner/landlord need to provide SMU with notice of the date that the tenant vacated the rental unit. Information on the tenant's payment status will be provided by SMU to the owner/landlord upon request.
Submission of this form constitutes your acceptance of responsibility for services provided by Shawano Municipal Utilities. SMU services will be billed in your name until notice is provided to SMU to terminate or transfer your service.
